Pilea

Pilea peperomioides plants are also known as Chinese Money Plants and they are an especially popular indoor plant. They have been popular in Scandinavia for many years having first been brought to Norway from China by a missionary in the 1940's.

Water your pilea plant weekly but always check the soil first. It is best to let the soil dry out at for at least a few centimetres below the surface before watering again. In very warm weather watch the leaves and if they are drooping you may need to water more often, but check the soil first.

Pilea like a bright and light environment. A window sill is good but not direct sunlight as this could burn the leaves.

Pilea are much admired for their interesting shaped leaves and lovely bright green colour. They are a particular favourite on Instagram@!
