An ivy (Hedera) plant is a lovely way to bring a touch of the outdoors in. They are native to Europe, Western Asia and Northern Africa, later brought to western countries by colonizers for landscape design. They are natural climbers, so they love to attach to other plants or become ground cover, weaving into the surrounding nature.

Ivy prefers to have slightly dryer conditions so always check the soil before watering - if it is damp, you can leave it for another few days. If it is dry add some water. Usually once every 2 weeks in the cooler months and once a week during the summer. Water the plant from below the leaves and away from the stems to prevent rotting.
2.png3.45 KB POSITION
Ivy plants like plenty of light but make sure not to stand your plant in the direct sunlight as it could burn the leaves. A spot with plenty of filtered light will keep your plant happy and healthy. If your plant becomes rangy or loses colour it may not be getting enough light.

Fertilize: Feed the plant with water soluble fertilizer every 6 weeks during growing season (spring-summer)
Prune: Regular trims are recommended to keep desired shape and encourage fullness
