Cyclamen

Cyclamen plants are popular indoor plants that provide beautiful colour in the cooler months.
WATER
Cyclamens can be watered once a week in the warmer months, and less frequently in the colder months. Flower drooping means the plant is thirsty, however leaf drooping is usually overwatering. Water the plant from below the leaves and away from the stems to prevent rotting. Ensure proper drainage and water only when the soil is dry for the top 10cm at least.
Yellow leaves will indicate either too much water, too much heat or not enough natural light. Most frequent cause of cyclamens dying is overwatering. Trim back any yellow leaves to encourage new growth.

POSITION
Cyclamens prefer a cool, humid environment. They enjoy bright, indirect light so they can continue to flower. Direct sunlight will burn the plant, causing the leaves to brown. The best places are by windows in rooms with no drafts and consistent temperatures. Cyclamens can also be planted outdoors in shady areas under trees or shrubbery. If your Cyclamen is outgrowing it's pot you can transfer it to a larger one or plant it in your garden.
Try placing the plant outside during a cold winter's day away from direct sunlight or wind, they will enjoy the cold temperatures!

CARE TIPS
The Cyclamen blooms for up to 8 weeks at a time, 5-6 weeks on average. Trim back any old or discolored flowers, this will encourage new ones to pop up. They can be fed with a low-nitrogen liquid fertilizer during growing season.
Cyclamens are tuberous perennials meaning bloom during winter and go into a dormant period during the warmer months. As blooming slows, allow the plant to dry out before entering the dormant stage. Allow the leaves to naturally fall off and water sparingly until new growth has appeared.
