20 Years in Bondi Junction Westfield
September 17, 2024
Pearsons Florist has been a cherished part of the Bondi Junction Westfield community for over two decades, proudly perched on their iconic corner in the fresh food precinct since the centre opened. However, the Pearsons Florist story began much earlier. In 1969, Clare and Fred Pollak took over a small flower shop at 20 Bronte Road from the Pearson family and transformed it into a flourishing floral enterprise that would become a well-known name for flower delivery across Sydney and Melbourne.
When the opportunity came to move into the new Westfield Bondi Junction development in 2004, Clare and Fred’s son Bernard Pollak continued the family legacy, and he has been dedicated to upholding the high standards of quality that define Pearsons Florist ever since. As one of the centre’s longest-serving tenants, Bernard has remained a constant presence, greeting customers with a warm smile and a beautiful range of flowers and plants, fresh from The Flemington Markets each day.

For Bernard, the heart of Pearsons lies in the relationships they’ve built with their customers. “So many customers to this day use Pearsons as their meeting point,” he reflects. “I’ll meet you at the florist.” It’s this personal touch and attentiveness that make every visit memorable, whether customers come in weekly or just once a year.
Pearsons Florist is known for its exceptional hands-on service and meticulous attention to detail, a dedication that was recently recognized with the Best Retail Presentation Award at the 2024 NSW Sydney Markets Fresh Awards. Bernard believes it’s the little things that truly make a difference, and offering that traditional shop keeper service. “We cater to every customer need and budget with that added attention to detail. We see ourselves as recession-proof. Even in the tougher times, people still love flowers.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Pearsons Florist for their ongoing commitment to quality, creativity and service, and being a pillar of the Bondi Junction community. Here’s to many more years of blossoming success!
